I have a few questions bout cell phones? 1st after you remove board and battery the remains are usually plastic , screens, and maybe alum. Or metal. So the plastic pieces with the gold connectors near the screws, will board sort buy them. If i send plastic with gold connectors what is it graded? And what bout the screens? Whats policy on them. Thx

The screw studs are probably brass Or bronze.
never gold.
Many of the newer phones have polymer case backs of pp/copper or pp/silver and your local yard may buy them.
If it looks like paint scratch it. If it's colored /inside/ the plastic you have a metallic plastic polymer

Screw studs. Brass or bronze sometimes brass plated steel.

The shields are stainless or aluminium most often. Some like rim and Nokia use an Alloy call bell metal that is 60-65% silver with aluminium. caterpillarcaterpillar and a few others use Zloy a silver nickel iron compound.
Zloy is used in tablets alot as well where strength is required over weight.
If dark grey or looks to have a film on it have it scanned

If your Yard buys "recycling shred" you could sell the plastic and glass with your steel. Usually 1-6 cents /lb

As far as i know Boardsort doesn't buy the screens alone but your yard might. There is pm content in them. If not add them to your shred. They also have heavy metals that shouldn't be added to normal trash.

I don't recommend you to scrap cell phones. Sell them as is. You loose money by scraping them.

Read the calculations I did at the bottom of this post and you will see why.
