Does Board Sort take motors from hard drives
Also do you accept HD reading arms?

I would sell those to your local scrap yard as aluminum or copper bearing motors. There is some precious metal in the read/write head, but it's very small. If the ribbon wire on the end of the read/write head that attaches to the logic board has gold pins on it or a socket connector, I would trim it and put it with your cable ends.

I take the cases in for aluminium cast price and the guts go for CBM or aluminium depending on the yard. Some places buy for copper bearing some give aluminium can price for high grade aluminium. .40/lb ain't bad compared to .20/lb for CBM.

I'm brand new here, but I do know that some artists (i.e., steampunk) will use the arms to create something. Your arms might be more valuable than just scrap.

Hobbyists will often buy HDD motors, through outlets such as eBay and flea markets. You can get far more than scrap value, but, it may take time to sell them all.

Later this summer, I may try selling HDD motors and magnets, and other interesting goodies at a flea market table. If I do, I will post something on my experiences/results.
