Can any type of board still be sold if components on the board have been removed? I.E. heat sinks, copper bearing components. Also what if board is broken or damaged from heat or burns?
Thanks

Yes. Depending on /what/ you remove determine any change in class.

And yes they buy broken boards. If you broke itto fit in a box they have no issues at all. If you broke it to remove stuff it's (almost) always downgraded to some extent.

Bulky items like heatsinks and large transformers should be removed and as lostinlodos says, does not impact the board price.

As for damaged boards, as long as the board type can be correctly determined and the mutilation was not done as part of harvesting components, you should be getting the correct grade and price for the board. Last year, I brought in a telecom grade board that had a burn on it resulting from a power surge. Boardsort still gave me full price for it.
