Greetings,

I just received approximately 30-35 retired two-way mobile radios that were previously used by a Fire Dept.
1) How do they compare in scrap value of mobile, cellular phones & other electronics with logic boards?
2) Is it worthwhile to disassemble the insides, the microphones?
3) What is the best way to leverage scrapping of these items & walkie-talkies?

Thanks for any insights on this!

If they are all the same which being a fire department I assume they would be. It would be worthwhile to tear just one apart and see what value the board is. If they are the standard Motorolas that are commonly used then the board should be worth the same as a cellphone board.

Might want to google the numbers under the battery, some times people are looking for parts to repair their units, might be a way to use more of the units , switches , knobs , ect.

scribeman01 actually emailed me some pictures of the radios in question. Unfortunately these are not the newer style radios that have the gorgeous cell phone grade board inside. Instead they have the traditional radio style board with was graded as a Peripheral board.
