I've gotten a few emails lately pointing to videos of people trying to remove caps from sun and green fibre cpus. With a post here from a user about sun cpus I've decided to post this psa for you all.

Many of the ones they post videos that work all use the lighter and razor method.
This is not just dangerous... it's stupid. The glue they refer to holding the cap is NOT glue. It's bonding tar. It's a non refined crude and silicate blend. The same used in roofing to mount clay and ceramic shingles. And the same used between asphalt layers to bond a new "capping" to old asphalt.
Ignition temperature is relatively low and once it lights it's very difficult to put out. and it burns extremely hot.
Thr smoke is toxic. And For green fibre it will consume the whole cpu before you can pull the pin on your fire extinguisher.
If you slip and nick,slice, your fingers you're looking at a hospital visit to deal with blood poisoning from getting that crap inside your fingers.
Some things are just best left to the pros. And none of us are them. ;)
