Both of these are old hp motherboards. I could not get the cpus out. Have I downgraded them with my failed attempts?

Are laptop motherboards always blue? Asking because I broke down 2 old hp laptops and an old hp "desktop" all in one and dont remember which ones I pulled from each. Other motherboard is blue; wasn't sure if I could assume the odd man out (green board) was the all in one.

Thank you for the prompt reply.

I thought the cpus had to be removed to be sorted. That's not the case for soldered?

For starters no; you left the chips on the board so it’s still peripheral or a motherboard class. Whole board pictures are needed to see what class the boards would actually be... but you very rarely benefit from removing components.

The CPUs don’t actually HAVE to removed at all.
Leaving CPUs in sockets is giving away money though.

You don’t have to remove CPUs, controllers or any ICs. And:. A soldered CPU could in some cases make the difference between a motherboard classing and a peripheral classing.

All soldered cpus should remain on the boards.

Boards that have been depoped beyond removing main socketed cpu and ram sticks can be downgraded as midgrade if warranted.

Do not sell depoped boards. We buy them for the pop! Dedpop boards are worthless to us.

Thanks!
