Embedded boards are a scaled down motherboard. They are closely related to ITX, but match up ports and mounting holes to the ATX layout.

They’re a weird group of boards typically designed for a specific use. Be it ATMs, video recorders, or arcade system boards.
game systems also fall into this category minus mounting holes.

Most go as peripheral. A handful will be laptop boards, cramming an entire ATX board onto something 1/3 to 2/3 the size. A rare few will be telco with removal of the heatsinks.

Surprise: there’s a real ATX motherboard in there. Not an embedded.

That company made quite a few early HTPC boards. It’s totally out of place (and overkill) in a recorder. Killer buy.
Hope you can power up some of those babies. The processors may fall into the tested cpu program.

Evilrick,

The unit with the with the CRT screen is what you need to look for....LOL

The gold cap chip board pictures I posted in the "what is it" came out of that unit along with about 10 lbs of high telco, 4 lbs back plane, 2 lbs mid-grade, 8 lbs low grade (power supply) about 8 lbs aluminum.

all in all that one unit pay out is going to be $70 to $80

Evil. You may want to rethink your approach.
I understand the hassle of dealing with them but...!
Luggables, table tops, and rack terminals all tend to be fairly high end.
And there’s a good opportunity to snag them low as most people just pass on crt items.

oh yes i consider [luggubles like a compact 2 ]and racks as all-in one computers and not under that rule ,the unit pictured above can have such a wide range of boards that i would not even consider it ..especially not over the net.

Are you saying I got lucky? There's no need to tell me that I know I got lucky on this one.

I honestly figured all that was in that thing was a low grade board or two. I was floored when I pulled the first gold cap board out and then two more, and then the 4 high telco boards.

I rarely ever get that lucky.
