Do these batteries need to be removed. I have a bunch of each that I was planning on selling to Boardsort as complete items. I know they are l-ion type gel packs or flat packs that by themselves are on the do not buy list.
Do I need to remove the batteries?
Thank you
Joe

Embedded non consumer replaceable batteries:
Cell phones have two classes; with and without batteries. The choice is up to you but you rarely make more money removing the batteries from a sealed phone.
Tablets have one class and the class assumes the battery is inside the case/machine. Removing the batteries from tablets in a way that’s free from any doubt will get some sort of upgrade. To what I don’t know but I’d guess 5-10c per pound.

FYI boardsort doesn’t buy soft shell pouch batteries (embedded non-consumer-replaceable) so removing one involves uncompensated work. And a battery to recycle on your own.

Please never never never toss a soft shell battery pouch in household trash.
Just look up garbage fire or trash fire to understand why.
Nobody on this planet is going to convince me $15/hr is worth trying to put out a truck bin fire. Like most online videos I’m gonna dump and run. And call the boss.
You just cost your town(ship) a few thousand bucks in first responder’s fees.

Generally whole unit prices cover the time to pay someone to disassemble the item AND any costs of handling non-purchased items. Including plastic and batteries.

Thank you for the response.
You gave me the answer I was hoping for. I really do not want to have to remove the batteries and was hoping to be able to leave them in and take the lower price. As you stated the extra work and then the need to dispose of is not worth the small increase in the end.
I receive the tablets and I phones in box lots. I just toss them aside to be sold as is to Boardsort.
