I found sales with the original MSDOS 2.11 and 2.12 (they
are OEM mods).
And also CPM, HX88, Debian-CL (Buzz), MDWRT, and most importantly:

Data In Ram for Text Terminals.
Dirt is an NFS with a text based DA interface.
In other words:
You have everything needed for a (slow) serial based file server.
These appear to be currently selling in the $100-$150 range or so. Though not in usual channels. And there’s a bit of interest in the crypto industry for old file servers for POSp, Proof Of Space tokens. No reason this couldn’t be plugged into a bunch of bare backplane units as a tape server. Eg HPDat or LTO
I’m not sure how well it would work: but there’s interest.
