I had a pretty worthless motherboard that I found in trash. While I would normally collect them for scrap, I decided to use it to practice hot air soldering by desoldering some of the chips and resoldering them on. For fun, I took the PGA CPU socket off. The PCIE and RAM slots don't appear to have gold pins so I don't think they have any value themselves.
Seeing that I trashed up the motherboard pretty badly and also broke the CPU socket into two pieces, I don't think I'm going to glue the parts back together to sell as a colored small socket motherboard, I will probably take the chips off and sell the board as low grade to my local scrapyard.
Now, what would Boardsort buy a CPU socket as? Surely that can get more than connector ends grade.
