is there a market for this clear 1/4 plastic from old moniters?..i hate to through out and a have a stack of them...about 11" by 14"..approx

But not safe. There's silver and manganese in the plastic polymer.

I've been told that these are made of acrylic, but they may not be. Could also be polycarbonate.

Some are a nickel based acrylic though I've found most are some sort of silver based polymer. There's so many variations I'm not sure selling them for food use is a good idea. ;)

I was actually being somewhat flippant, But... Silver is a natural antibiotic, and both Silver and Manganese are taken as dietary supplements. can't imagine enough of either would leach out in quantities that would be a problem? You are correct though, not good assuming they are food safe.
Call them "Scrapbooking" cutting boards (not food safe) and ask 7 Bucks!

great ideas...very impressive...how bout for cleaning fish?..you rinse off the fish anyway
