The tiny little reddish grey metal at the end of the actual pickup is the rhodium.
Almost too small to make out in an 8mp photo.
The bad news is it takes a LOT of drives to get even a weighable amount of rhodium. The good news is many jewerly shops will buy rhodium by penny weight (or American pence) so there's no shortage of buyers. Pull a few dozen drives and you're tipping the scale just ever so slightly.
Good place for that dozen tiny pieces; a high end jewerly store like a diamond shop. Which have diamond scales that read in true pence. 6 pence to a pw.
So again an easy sell.

I've taken apart a few hard drives lately, and a couple of them have voice coils which have a gold color instead of the usual copper color. I googled to see if there is any gold involved, and came up with two scrapping forum threads at different sites which came to two different conclusions: 1) no gold involved; the color is either from the varnish or it is anodized aluminum and 2) it is gold-plated aluminum.

Any insight on this, lostinlodos? (or anyone else?)

Well, that was rude wasn't it.
Personally I'm betting both threads are correct; though that varnish is probably bronzing (the scientific term, not the metal) the residual remnants of minerals in the aluminium such as nickel.
I forcefully limit my breakdown or I'd spend a year on a single drive.
Somethings like those would wind up in my mixed pm recovery bin anyway for $4.xx per lb with nickel and silver plate etc so I've never given it thought.

Next time I come across one I'll dump it in acid and have it tested though now that you got my interest.
