Do any of the personal notebooks have any value complete? What about the lithium-ion battery packs inside of those?

Depends on what you mean by value. If they work there's always value somewhere.
Broken but intact you can get $1-€10+ Depending on what it is.

As scrap... prices start from $1-$5 on the low end for Tablets/PDAs when youu look at all parts sold. Not just what boardsort buys. In this case excluding phones and ereaders thr older the better. The bigger the better.

That old laptop in my What's Inside it teardown got me over $40 in SCRAP from boardsort and various other specialist recyclers.

Boardsort alone you can expect 1-3 for smart- and feature- phones, about 1-5 for PDAs, 1-3 for tablets and ereaders. 1-5 for large 8"+ tablets. 1-5 for large modern smartphones.

Batteries are a whole post to it's own. Boardsort buys the batteries that are intended to be removed, that have gold contacts. They do NOT buy anything with silver, nickel, or palladium contacts.
They do NOT buy soft pack batteries. The ones sealed inside phones or tablets.
