Don't have pictures as of now, headed to work, but i have taken about 15 mouse apart, nearly each one is different. Some have two boards, and a couple actually has three boards. There's alot going on inside such a small space!! There are a few boards that are sooo pretty, just wondering, has a mouse board ever made cell board??

Just my early morning thought

Pictures to come when i get home

Consumer mice? No
Xerox mice had a few that would be cell, but a dead one is worth over $100 so why take it apart. Like Lisa (see below) these boards are actually worth far more than cell class as scrap. The board itself is layered copper mesh, not plastic or wood. Each layer has a gold plating thick enough to be classed as mil.
At the current gold rate they're worth around $150, per pound.

DEC and IBM, 4 buttons and 3 respectively, had mice in the late seventies, early eighties, that were proprietary bus mice for workstations; again these are over $50 each so not a scrap target.

As far as my understanding the Lisa mouse was produced in three runs, each of lower cost/value. The first very limited run was paired with the equally limited over achieving run of Lisas supplied to team members and for demo units to insure the highest rate of quality and lowest of failure. .

But to answer your question, again:
Consumer mice? No

There's always exceptions so post a photo when you get a chance. You've got me intrigued.

2 the larger one I'd put in peripheral;
Everything else is midgrade.

5 under the plastic there should be enough nickel to get midgrade.
You should always remove wire befor sending in boards.
In this case the wire is worth more than midgrade but if they have to remove it they could lower your grade despite that.
Ever the commodity stuff like here; there's a lot going on in that tiny shell .

Ball mice tend to be midgrade and as above occasionally peripheral
Optical mice are usually 2 boards, one midgrade one peripheral
Laser mice will normally both fall into peripheral, occasionally telco.
Gaming mice that are two boards usually both are telco, if the buttons are a separate board instead of post snaps the button boards are telco; and in very very rare cases (i.e. G500) the button board may pass into the cell class, .
Any predating the early 80s has a good chance for peripheral/telco and even cell class, (if not better yet) but chances are that mouse is worth more dead, shot, stuffed, and mounted than as parts in scrap.

A lot of 9 wood DEC mice sold for $10,000 making them over a grand each. An apple kit mouse (for the 1 or // sold for $350 at live auction with a hand made woden case. And a plastic apple mouse // sold for $74 so the older ones definitely are worth looking up.

If you can't find it post a picture in the scrap general forum I'm with a part or serial number and I'll look it up in my private auction catalogs to see if it or a similar one sold and what for.
Dead ball mouse: look it up
Dead optical mouse: scrap it
Dead laser mouse: look it up
