In the 45 minutes between Trump being declared president and Clinton conceding the stock market dropped to near record lows and gold 98 hit $2500/oz out of cycle trading for the first time in, well, has it ever gone that high? After an hour it was flipping and by morning it was all over.
Most metals hit both record highs and lows (adj for infl). Copper hit $4.50 and 75 cents. Gold 98 (clean scrap not bullion) ran 800-2560! Silver was under 10 and over 30 per ounce And nickel fell? Nickel at $2.80 in the first two weeks, is unthinkable. And yet today nickel is nearly $5 again. Iron hit all time lows at 9/10 cent per lb per tonne. (Currently at 6 cents iron and 9 cents for Ecs steel. Which is in itself strange to see raw iron below mixed clean steel. We have just lived through the most volatile month in commodities history. And we survived. Scrap on.
