That depends.
As scrap? Well you can scrap the boards at boardsort things like the monitor any sheet layers take more specialised buyers. If it's whole and NOT cracked try online LCD buyers. Prices range from a few dollars to tens or better.
If it's cracked most yards will give you some sort of shred rate at the bare minimum, even if you've pulled the boards. . Find a specialist buyer and you'll do well with selling the screen and can still sell everything else too.

Just watch out for the fluorescent tubes. Don't break them.

Plasma displays always have a heavy metal backing (magnesium, aluminium, nickel, manganese, etc). But do NOT try to remove it. You absolutely do not EVER want to risk cracking a plasma screen. They're chockablock full of nasty gases, all dangerous and some very quickly deadly like hydrogen floride.
If it's in cracked you can sell the screen online from ebay to dedicated buyers (ggl plasma display used buyer).
If it's damaged most ferromagnetic scrap buyers will take them as shred.

neon xenon and helium are toxic? ;) Hydrogen fluoride in a plasma screen wouldn't work, as it would just eat the glass.

Mercury radium-Florine hydrogen-calmine
etc
It's not what you started with it's what you get when your break it.
Much like lithium batteries
Pure lithium is a nice element. Lithium hydroxide is a naughty bond.
I'm the last to play chemist and say exactly why but it doesn't take much research to find there's more published (excluding blogs and YouTube nonsense) info saying don't than do.

Granted I'm going to be forever very afraid of batteries due to my mishaps I've also learned to listen to warnings on other things.
Bottom line it; as much as we know, it's the small bit we think we "know" that causes issues. Better safe than sorry
I Know that there's mercury, the rest of what's in there, just not worth it.
If the yard is willing to pay me AL breakage at 19c per lb it's where I draw the line. I paid less than $10 and made it back triple already.
Any risk beyond that is just not worth it for the extra 20 cents.
