Just to pair with Lostinlodos. I found this broken vending machine and took pictures of what Boardsort would buy.

--There was about a pound of mixed wire
--1 oz of aluminum from the boards
--10 oz of peripheral boards (feel free to correct me I am wrong grading the boards)
--1 oz of low grade.

Besides this there were 16.25 in coins and three silver dimes from 1964 and 1941.

What is your total amount made off of the scrap? I no of one I could buy, but if I lose money, I wouldn't want to obviously. Is there any kind of good scrap metal in them?

Depends on the type and age. Your value is definitely NOT in escrap!
If it’s working there’s some real value in various parts.
From a scrap perspective you’ve got the shell, frame, skeleton, and spine. All of which can be steel, aluminium, fibreglass, etc. The rack and feed are usually stainless steel but could be aluminium. A few pounds of various categories of wire.
Glass if you have a buyer for it.
Plastics, potentially wood. If it’s a hot/cold vender you’ll get copper, brass, pvc, abs, a compressor for cold units. Be careful with hot/cold units as there’s environmental requirements in the freon and oils.
Scrap value ranges from under $10 to well over $50 and into the $100s depending mostly on if the structure is primarily wood, steel, or aluminium. In order of value low to high.
Cold drin bottle vendors will always pay out the highest, followed by large size mixed temp, hot vendors, snack machines, small hot vendors (ie cup of coffee) and finally thin tall skinny glass shelf vendors, similar to but smaller than the snack machine shown above
