Hey! So I have about 110-115 lbs of gold fingered RAM sticks (no rambus). However, all IC chips have been removed leaving just the gold fingers and the gold traces all across the board. Would this still classify as the $14.50 / lb price for RAM sticks? If not, what would it be classified as now?

no, it would be severely downgraded. your best option would be to trim the gold fingers closely and send just those in... you should have a considerable pile.

In general, boardsort does not take depopulated boards.

As a side note, RAM is the worst thing to depopulate because they payout rates pretty close to the gold content of the RAM.

At this point mls is accurate. You’re best choice is to trim the fingers.
That said I get ram blanks (as in meant to be bare)of various from time to time that they take as telco. But these boards have the same thickness contacts and are thinner boards above them. Which go telco. That tells me that chances are depopulated ram is going to be gfc. At best.

The money would be in trimming but you have enough that if you don’t want to cut all those fingers I’d email Chris directly and send a few photos too. See what he says from there
