Picked up like 20 old computers and accessories from a guy yesterday. Said he also had a room packed full of old CB radio equipment he needs to clear out. Anybody have experience with these - is there anything in them to make them worth my while? Most of the computers were 15-25 years old. Sounded like the radios would be in the vintage category.

Resale is the value on that. Unless it’s low or free.
Metals wise: chrome, aluminium, copper, steel
Tech wise low, mid, and peripheral boards
Others: plastic, glass, lcd displays, leds, wire, plastic

Theyre just looking to clean house sounded like i could prob get a load for free but I wasn't sure if they were worth breaki. So would you say yes? I mean I know "what's your time worth" is always a factor but even as scrap is there easy enough meaningful value?

They’re worth at least cbm to most larger yards so figure not touching them at all you’ll be at 25-50cents per lb.
honestly it totally depends on how old, style, etc. Is it a hand held, base station, portable, dash mount...?
Generally you’re at around a dollar to under $5 each for most unless you’re back into the 70s/80s boom era devices which had a lot of chrome
Much like old mobile phones, the bigger, or super smaller, an older device is the more it’s going to scrap out for. Bigger because there’s more of everything, and the smallest portable ones look like 80s cell phones or walkie talkies because everything is higher quality and value in it.

Yep, that’s a bunch of run-around hiding my lack of suggestions for you.
Again without seeing what you’re looking at you can be well under a dollar each or over $5 depending on many factors.

sounds like it's at least worth pursuing more info - which is all I needed to know at this point :-)

if given free i would take them cause anything with a power cord is going to have at least copper in it.

if they are old radios/crystal type thats a whole new market for that stuff
