if a laptop is only missing the battery and is complete besides that can it still go as a complete laptop..maybe the answer is obvious but with laptop batteries and whole laptops being close i hate throwing a laptop missing a battery in the incomplete pile.. if it does matter can i include x amount of batteries per laptop?

for the complete grADE IT HAS to have its battery and as far as i know you cant sub a random battery from something else.[generally speaking that is]

so yours would be bought as incomplete.

Hi Rick, not even a battery from another laptop of the same model? I'm in the same situation as Michael, but I have another battery.

if you have another battery from same model/series then its fine this also includes aftermarket or replacement ones as well [providing they fit in laptop have gold contacts and are li-ion ].

Ultimately it would be up to Chris.
I not sure but my assumption is there’s some level of refurbishment going on. Be it at boardsort or their buyer.

I did.

Let’s b honest. There’s very few scrappers out there who didn’t plug SOMETHING in at some point. I’m sure boardsort, if not Chris and Bruce, has employees that will try this or that on occasion.

Give me 5 hours at boardsort’s storage local and $500 at their buy rates and I’ll build you a mini computer on par with with anything big blue puts out to customers. Period. And I’ll go double your input if I fail, because I won’t.
I’ve built working computers out of parts that had been at the bottom of the ocean for 10+ years.
Well I doubt boardsort is doing restoration work I know there are major escrap buyer on the top two levels (boardsort sells the scrap to some of them) who test each and every viable component that comes through. And I’m sure someone at boardsort powers up this and that on occasion.
One of my steel yards sells me computers that power up at double the shred rate they buy at.
When you have a hundred, thousand, or so dell latitudes on hand you’re a failure in tech and scrap if you can’t get ONE to work.

All that said: there’s obviously a reason complete has the requirements they do. It’s not to look pretty in the gayloard.

Chris said it needs a matching battery to be considered complete.
