I see guys on here with telecom boards want to know what those come out of. Are they in big servers or what? A local Amish community is having all of their payphone systems removed. Would a near by switch house be a source of telecom board? Or are they for data transference? Like for the internet. Cause I have a friend who is an IT guy for a regional internet and cable provider that sounds like romfast. I don't know how to approach him about it. Any suggestions? I am new to scrap and need a lil guidance.

I would ask him what their plans are for disposal of any electronic waste being removed that is not going to a pool of spare parts. If they offer it to you, then by all means take it. If not, see if the company he works for can consider using you as a resource for e-waste recycling.
