The neutral oxy-MAPP Gas flame produces 2405 BTUs/cf with a 5301° F (2927° C) flame temperature and the melting point of Copper is 1357.77° K, 1084.62° C, or 1984.32° F so you should have no problem melting copper wire. Electrical copper wire is usually pretty pure because alloys and impurities can significantly impact the wires conductivity, resistance, etc. Building a fire brick enclosure around whatever you are using as a crucible can increase your melting effectiveness.

Something that should be mentioned is the requirement for adequate ventilation. Anytime you are dealing with melting metal you should take care to using adequate safety gear, welding gloves, dust respirator, use welding goggles and protective clothing when working with metals heated above 1300 deg C to prevent damage by excessive infrared rays. this is probably way to late, but melting it down will be a waste of your time... when it is in wire form, people know what it is and its content and it is a familiar form the metal comes in... if you melt it into an ingot , (from the buyers perspective) you could have allowed it with anything and thus the content is not known... most places would give you a reduced price if they bought it at all.
