Why are laser printers so valuable from a scrap perspective?

This is more straightforward than it appears. Bulk.
Ink jet printers have almost nothing in them. Even all in one printers.
The majority of the weight is the transformer (if internal) and metal brackets.
Laser printers are full of, things. Many large motors. Dozens of boards. Multiple power units.
Many older and modern multifunction laser printers even have real AT or ITX motherboards that fall into the motherboard class. SO-DIMM ram,

Flip this around a bit. Laser printers cost more new. Equally a working or semi working laser printer is worth considerably more for parts than scrap.
Even ancient ones like xerox and ibm and Apple. Can fetch hundreds as bare working parts.

No comparison...the Lazer printers are much heavier with nice boards

Or these...even with a small memory stick and all the plug in ports are gold

Wow I had no idea, I turn printers away all the time, now I will have to keep my eyes peeled for Laser ones.
