Do the heat sinks have to be removed off the Slot Processors, If so how do you get them off?

Yes, they do need to be removed. One way I found to remove them is to use a flat head screwdriver and break the plastic. I'm sure others here that have scrapped slot processors have other methods that work just as well.

That is the easiest way to remove the heat sink/cover. It isn't really hard just be gentle so you don't break the processor or remove vital components so the board doesn't get downgrade it.

Tell you the truth, I hit it with a hammer, on the plastic, never even damaged a board. The sink sits on top of a plastic cover, stand it up on its side and hit it with a claw hammer, don't murder it but use some spunk. Then they'll be a piece stuck to one side, use a pair of pliers to twist of the two brackets and all done. Seemed difficult at first, but you'll see right where to hit it, with the claw end of a hammer.
