Is it worth the extra time to take out the hard drive boards or just move entire hard drives at the 75 cents a pound?

When I scrap a hard drive, I remove all the screws and completely disassemble the drive. I sell the logic board to boardsort and most of what's left is aluminum and that goes to my local scrap yard. The platters are considered dirty aluminum in most cases, but there are people out there who will buy the platters for craft use, or accumulate a huge quantity to refine the precious metals that are plated on the surface.
