 Post subject: Boards from the 80s

I recently broke down a huge warehouse full of HIGH end video production equipment from the 80's and notice that they have what looks like gold running through the backs of the. Does this make them worth more money? Thank you!

The traces you see are more than likely just copper... the solder mask (protective resin layer) give it the off color. take a knife as scratch the protective layer off and it should reviel the copper color... if that is the case, then I would say that those boards are mosltly a low grade since the have almost no surface mounted devices and no IC chips.

If you scratch off the solder mask and see a gold color, then you you have to ask someone at BS...even then, the gold would be flash plated on top of copper and not very thick. I do not know how boardsort would treat such boards.
