I will load up some pictures of examples but it looks to me as though you clsass many boards as peripheral that I have always thought of as high grade, gold trace, risers, audio/video etc. I am thinking my best bet is just to class all the boards I have this way to avoid problems.

The way I was taught to classify boards was based on value of said boards from highest to lowest and in every case here that order is Memory, Gold Trace and High Grade boards. Review the comments beneath each of the photos for more clarity please.

Now if you've looked over the pictures you have a visual of what I'm talking about here and I understand that everyone does things differently and in their own way but it seems obtuse that these classes of boards that typically are paid for at prices much higher to prices far greater than those paid out for Peripherals currently $1.40 per pound. Is there a basic reason for this other than the obvious one of paying $1.40 a pound beats paying $2.50-$5.00 per pound and in the case of the memory as high as $15.00 a pound leaving a very juicy margin for big profits to be made on peripherals unlike profits made from any other category that is offered for board submission. It is what it is and I am not complaining really just looking for some explanation for this being done in this way? Finally is it the opinion of all here that every item in those pictures can at the very least be bagged up together and placed into a box as peripherals or does some of it yet need to be re classed and if so which stuff and to what class should it go?

File comment: Even this seemingly worthless pile of slivers, filings, scraps and bits would not be classed below High Grade. Much of it the result of trimmed gold fingers while the rest is clearly made up of the valuable materials like gold that make boards desirable, valuable and at least High Grade material.

File comment: Here we have a number of boards that wouls again be classed as Memory while there may be a bit of gold trace the rest is High grade boards again.

File comment: Here there a clearly a number of boards that would be classed as memory, gold trace being prevalent also and the tiny bit that is neither of those is still high grade board quality.

There’s a general misconception that the thin flashing, which is a thin alloyed paint, is in the same class of value as, say, ram fingers or the connectors on things like expansion cards. The later having fairly high value, as seen in the class of clean gold fingers.
Those thin flashed trimmings like the first photo aren’t all that valuable.
On the first photo I do see a ceramic IC in there?
The next two photos look mixed and I’ll need to do some markup for them.
