OK, so here are some boards, they come as a set, what price do you think these would fetch per pound?
The board is 6.5 inches by almost 5.5 inches
Gold plating both sides, a small population on other side, 3 gold plated connector slots lots of 1-3mm mlcc's and ic's, gold passes through slot holes to the other side,
gold spots everywhere about 150 gms in weight for the larger board

just to add to this post, the gold plated squares you see on those boards is 'flash plating' and is extreamly thin. thus the reason BS would still treat them as peripheral boards.

For comparison, the gold plating you see on the fingers of modems, video cards, and other PCI cards is 3-5+ times thicker depending on the manufacturers requirements.

You are spot on mls26cwru. Those boards are Peripheral Grade, and those squares are indeed flashed. Flashing is more of a painting than it is a plating.

The thin green/gold strips out of LCD screens are a perfect example. Upon initial sight you would think they are high dollar pieces when in reality they are not.

But still, $1.25/lb for trash ain't too shabby. I see people every day who work really hard to gather material that pays a fraction of that. (aluminum can collectors?)
