How should this board be graded? I have 30 of these same boards. Each one has 6 socketed ICs on the lower right side, in addition to the soldered ICs. The larger yellow epoxy capacitors are confirmed as Tantalum for sure. Those small pin clusters aren't gold.

What's the grade as it appears now?
What's the grade if I pull the 6 removable ICs?

its hard to say... with a board like that, you will need to send Chris an email to see what they say.

my 2 cents are that you will probably not get telecom because there is a lot of board with low value components on it... you would probably get one of the motherboard grades for it... assuming you leave those chips on it. I would also ask him if the grade he gives you is dependent on leaving the chips in or not.

I've been told old boards like that get large socket rate

Okay, thanks Lost. I trust your information and I will go with Large Socket Motherboard for this model of board unless Chris replies to my email with a different answer.

I haven't found the cut off point exactly but after my first 3 shipments I've gotten it spot on most of the time.
These old kit boards have a bronze layer in the sandwich.
Usually a +5 nickel brass alloy.
Enough to get you the dirty copper rate at most scrap yards but they degrade the escrap process because the don't split the same way in refining.
So no telco rate even on the most populated ti-99 boards. (I sent a few)
But it's still higher than dirty copper so better than fair price.
