Plenty of boards here. More to come. I was always just throwing everything into a big container. Trying to get it organized...

Hi there

My first recommendation is to post fewer pictures, like less than 10. This way it won't be like a big task for anyone to help and your post doesn't get ignore by the moderators nor the other sellers.

Brown boards are always low grade unless it has gold plated pins like the floppy disk board. Also, you can do a process of elimination. For instance, if you pulled a board for a hard drive it is then a hard drive logic board. If it has gold finger then it is a gold finger card and so and so.

This is my take.

Peripheral: 2,3,4,6,7,9,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24,25,26,31,35,37,38,39,40,41,
42,43,44,45,46,47,48,49,50,51.

Mid-grade:
1,32,36,34
(you could remove the ic chips without downgrading the board)

CD/ROM board:
8,10,11

Hard drive logic board:
12

Low grade:
27,28,29,30,33
(you could remove the ic chips without downgrading the board)

Im trying to clean up this recycling bin full of boards. Ive got a bunch of small boards now...

I seperated most of the lowgrade.
Im still not quite sure what makes a board midgrade. Could you explain how you differentiate midgrade from the others?

Sorry it took so Long.

7 is a 2inch hard drive board.
The remote boards. Assuming the ic controller chip is on it.

based on my emails and posts ...
If brown on both sides it's low grade Cut the ic loose

If brown on one side it's mid Grade

if green on both Sides
For copper contacts midgrade
Gold contacts peripheral
Bump ic (like the first one) are peripheral regardless of contacts

Are u talking about the remote board when youre talking about copper and gold contacts?

And bump ic on the first remote? The black bump which underneath im assuming is an ic? Is that what youre talking about when u say bump ic?

The bump ic is a cpu under a black plastic. As you suggested.
They're cpus. Not rom chips.

Hey! lostinlodos.

I was looking at area ascrapapp yards and saw you posted prices at a certain one in chicago. I was hoping to privately have a discussion about chicago area scrap yards but alas, pms have been disabled.

I was quite unhappy when i went to american scrap metal because they took all and any kind of aluminum for the low price of .20 lb. I dont get it how can you do that. I asked the guy you dont pay any higher for extruded aluminum for windows which is much higher grade than old sheet aluminum with caulk and paint on it?? Nope, just aluminum. I heard heatsinks are worth more too so i got a little container of those i havent taken anywhere yet.

Tell me , whats youre experiences at which scrap yard. They dont really sort scrap that well and end up paying you less. From now on only my steel goes there.

Do you know any yards around that will actually sort it out properly? Im in the near southwest suburbs of Chicago

Still kinda weirded out that i saw your post!
