 Post subject: Backplane ID/question

Well, I have 4 of these.
Do all the little wire runs need to be removed?

What category would they be?

You'd need to send it for review; class depends on alot of factors.
We know it's atleast backplane.
Wire wraps (peg boards) can be steel... or plated steel or pure nickel or silver or a number of other metals.
They range from peripheral to telco.

As for the wires... generally you are supposed to remove them.
usually If you unwrap the centre pegs you can get enough slack to just pull away in counterclockwise circles and it comes loose rather easily.

Use a hanging magnet like a key chain magnet.
If tge mag sticks to the pins it's going to be backplane. If not it could go a higher rate.
