 Post subject: Is this a battery?

I have looked it up and it mentions that it has a lithium energy source but not the word battery once

Its a self contained integrated clock. So my guess is a battery would be included in the package. Best to remove it

Even if chris says ohkay.
Think it should come off just because... well... i couldn't sleep at night knowing someone somewhere got turned into DOOM nuggets at a refining centre because i was too selfish to remove lithium from a board. but that's just me (and they do use water in mill separation). Then boom and well.
But that's just my take.

Is that why batteries are no good? lithium is dangerous in the refining process? I always wondered why they cared about that.

Lithium is very reactive, dangerous, and highly toxic. There are a couple reasons it is imperative to remove them from the refining stream.
