Can I get a detailed receipt to know more for sure what I am getting paid for?

I know that if you bring a shipment in in person, they give you a receipt that tells what category each item was along with a weight and total paid for the line item.

I am not sure how it works when you mail it in, but I would imagine that they would send wither a digital (via email) or hard copy (via snail mail).

maybe someone who has mailed in a shipment can confirm this...

I have done it both ways. In person, you will get a scale ticket showing weights and the amount paid along with your check for the total amount paid on the ticket. If you are shipping, your quote form will be your scale ticket as long as your weights are accurate and photo documentation of your scrap is in line with the specs for each type of material you are selling. When shipping, do include tracking numbers or delivery confirmation of your package. I also recommend insuring the shipment for the amount that is to be paid on it upon receipt.
