You’ve got the right method. Everything directly on the list will give you individual category line items when you fill out the quote form telling you both what each category is worth and an order total. Pins... are based on the value of the entire makeup of the pins. XRF scanning tells the operator the (nearly) exact elemental makeup of an item. See the image. Boardsort will test the pins, then decide the weight out based on element readings. The payment is based on the values of the included materials in/on the pins. In fantasy macro scale, say you sent them a single 1 Troy pound pin. That pin was 10% gold and 89% nickel and many tenths of a percent of other elements. Your payout would be 1/10 Troy pound gold and 9/10 Troy pound nickel. $114 in gold and $3.99 in nickel The gold rate from boardsort tends to be around .92 of commodity in most of the pins I’ve had quoted. Based on my having had a working XRF scanner for a while. In reality you’ll never have a Troy pound pin and my materials example is just an example. But it should help you understand how it works.
