The board is probably still peripheral. Those big square boards have a fair bit of copper in them.

And that’s a perfect sort on the pins. Keeping them separate like that boardsort can quickly scan samples of each type and give you a fair value. As opposed to pin soup where they’ll try to be fair but there’s a time loss in doing so.
I’m going to steal that photo and nominate it for a sticky on sorting pins.

Everything there is quotable

Lost, since you are experienced, what is a good minimum weight of pins to mail in? I realize that if one has a few ounces to include in a larger box, any amount would suffice, but if it is a shipment of pins only, what is a minimum so that one earns a fair payday, and Boardsort doesn't spend time on a low yield box.

Ideally you’d be over a pound.
The issue with pins is, aside from testing them yourself, there’s little in the way of consistency.
You could priority mail an ounce or two of 1986/87 SCSI pins and I’m sure everyone is going to be happy. On the other side a pound of USB or SATA pins is generally not worth shipping alone.
The reality is manufacturing is so inconsistent... you can’t know till it’s scanned.
Which is why I had my own XRF unit till it died.
