I have a set of different small connector boards and I am trying to learn what grades as backplane, vs. gold finger, vs. peripheral

The left two have gold fingers.

The left-most also has a big flat chip on the back.

I hate these. ;)
I have a hard time placing them myself and I’ve been told there’s /some/ inconsistency even at boardsort.
Ported risers with no edge connectors are often hard to justify even peripheral rate
So as I’ve staid elsewhere ultimately it’s what you get when it’s at the dock.
For these the one with fingers as gold finger card
The rest as peripheral
