I just to confirm the two boards will go for peripheral.

This DLP was taken out from a printer. Will it for for Fiber DLP?

IC
Peripheral
Telco

Tel oldest variants with gold pins go as green/brown fibre. Nickel and tin go as IC

Hey Lost! I am a bit confused here, you graded picture 2 as peripheral and last pic as Telecom. Would you be kind enough to explain the difference for me here? I know these are not my boards but I am curious as these two look fairly idebtical besides just the other having a darker green complexion.

Ports all look the same, population is also the same just a different version on pins so what makes the other board a higher grade?

Thanks for any further response.

Hi rubble. I’m not seeing your post. If you don’t mind linking to it I’d be happy to see what I did.
Mix grade here is multi-levelled
5 sets of gold pinned ports
4 QLP chips, one being a full CPU. The 92461.
:: three being COC ICs.
15 ICs in total making up the majority of the board.

Hi Lost! Im talking about bridgeways post here this very particular post we are in.

First pic is a linear ccd chip

Second graded peripheral

Third graded as telecom

So the last pic bridgeway posted is telecom but his second pic also very much looks like telecom but at peripheral rate.

It also has more than 15 ic chips mostly dominating the board. So that one doesnt have enough for telecom as well?

Both boards seem to have came from a similar device but one graded as peripheral.

Just learning how you guys sort boards that way I know as well. And you have to admit these boards brideway posted looks very much alike on the front ports, population is kind of a bit different but both looks borderline peripheral and telecom.

Ah, I follow.
The other board has 12 ICs,
Smaller gold pin ports.
Drawing the line isn’t easy all the time. I’m fairly sure the noted as telco board would clear telco, but the other one is too low for me to be willing to bump that.
Basically as always; I’m stating how I would personally sort them. Boardsort has the final say when they get there.

Thanks for the input, it is very difficult to really know on these peripheral grades. I had seen somebody post a t-con board from a flatscreen t.v with gold flashes and a few ic chips you graded as telecom and seen something very similar graded as peripheral kind of like these 2 here. Im about to give up on upgrading any of my peripheral and just simply toss them for peripheral rate lol. I think im happy with the prices enough to let that go, just curious thats all.

Boardsort happily will upgrade a few here and there if I’m wrong.

I rarely classify anything as telco unless I’m fairly sure that specific individual board would clear the case.
I error on the side of caution. I’d rather you get an upgrade than a downgrade.
