I have taken apart tons of HD motors and other wire wound components and was wondering if Boardsort pays anything for these or how they are classed? Unfortunately my local scrap yard won't hardly pay anything for any e-scrap. They are the only game in town in my city, and they pay miserably for other metals, so I am stuck looking elsewhere.

As long as they’re clean from extra casings my guess is they would be yokes. That the class some of the yards by me put them in.

Thank you. So if I understand you correctly, these would be classified as Yokes and according to the payout be around .40 cents per pound depending on prices when I ship them in?

What about small electric motors such as I have pictured or transformers?

Sorry if these things are common and have been answered before as I am new here and just trying to get all my ducks in a row before I start organizing all my scrap. Thanks again for you reply and understanding. JT

motors and transformers. Have their own paired class under the metals category
