All appear to be peripheral except for the HP memory module. I'm assuming all of these were pulled from printers. I'll let lostinlodos chime in on the memory module.

That memory riser is mostly board weight. Still at peripheral.

What keeps the hp memory riser from being backplane board, if you would be so kind?

The same thing that keeps all 2 port risers out of backplane. Not enough pins.
This is on the high end of peripheral. But I don’t see it making the jump to low telco. There’s just not enough there.

Thank you for the clarification. I had not encountered two port risers yet so it got me to wondering so I asked. We keep on learning this way.

;)

Two port risers pop up on the forum every now and then. And cause a lot of confusion. Including for me. Most are peripheral. You have the gold finger connector and two identical ports for gold finger connectors. Others will wonder into low telco. Like isa to pci cards with onboard controllers.
The strangest ones we can expect to come across will be gold finger cards. Like the PCI to ePCI risers.
Generally I don’t like risers for two reasons:
A) I’m forced to think in sorting
And
B) you stupid fool, parallels with blockages disrupt airflow far more than vertical cards would. Way to make a less efficient computer!

Just the other day lost covered the backplane class pretty in depth,

If someone put the effort into mining all the knowledge that's been shared on this forum it could be turned into one heck of a training manual,

I wonder if the photos uploaded for grading could be used to teach an AI to sort boards "I am sortbot all grades are relatively empirical"

I’d more expect “I am SortBot and I am god”
Lol.

Especially considering the parameters it's being taught to identify and value,

A machine, intelligent through environmental learning, tasked with viewing infinite electronic carnage, and determining the worth of the dismembered, the only obstacle to an all consuming God complex is if it's made aware of its own architechture, which would presumably be modern, and less "aureus" (gold bearing, and potentially sortbots preffered term) than the high dollar items we search for, gold caps, Pentium pro, ect. Upon recognizing this sortbot may react violently, even attempting to self harm, or it could develop a religious faith devoted to the "shining ones" either way, fan fiction if sure to come

If it successfully masters sorting boards, it would surely be implemented at the docks to handle incoming shipments with speed and accuracy human workers are incapable of. This means giving it "arms" , limbs, a means of handling that which it sorts, but like children and chores, an emergent function arises, and with the gift of a desoldering tool, sortbot begins making "pets" in it's spare time
