First office copier I've gutted in a looong time nice bonus of some gold finger ram,

Question: that last board was in the copier?
That’s a DAC. Which is expected. But a really high end one that doesn’t make sense in a copier. With full fledged video encoding!

Good eye, that last one was adopted,

Its biological parents device was a Phillips CD player, it did look high end, w/ a runtime display of that older, glass vacuum display type, on a newer digital device, I didn't think it would make CD, but good to know, I have duplicates of that device

That makes a lot more sense. Lol.
That chip supports RM along with mpeg. Didn’t make sense.
Unless your copier scanned books into slideshows. ;)
