So I started separating items in one of my gold pins containers, and found a few items I was curious about! Thinking back I made the mistake of putting everything that looked like it had gold on it into the same containers. Again, Rookie mistake. The square metal items came off higher end server boards, and older server hard drives, they have a shade of gold around the perimeter, and when you break one open you can see the inside. See pictures with the red circled items. Also, over the years I would cut out Silver Contacts and save them, but the ones in these photos appear to be gold but not sure, was hoping you could clarify. Due to the fact there is very little amount of weight, I will probably continue to save these smaller items, as i have no idea what else to do with them. Goes back to sometimes it's better to just leave stuff alone, sell whole and not pull it apart.

Honestly have no idea what they do with them but they do accept them.
Somewhere between SIM card rate and peripheral. But there’s never been consensus.

Send in a quotable shipment and include them. Send the middle photo in an email with the tracking and order number to Chris after you check out.

Those are ceramic gold oscillators. Some are actually labeled as an IC, as well. They are gold capped/rimmed and contain gold and other PB's inside them. They're the equivalent to a small ceramic chip just tiny sized. They make ceramic capped ones as well, just silver n other PB's. The big grey shiny squares and cylinders are silver oscillators. Usually marked "Y" or "X" but can be labeled "U" and "IC" depending on functionality.

As for the gold plated silver contacts, it could happen. I assume it's manganese. They do gold plate contacts though, if you have the ones; I have no idea. You would have more silver content anyways. Plus, I want to say the contacts are usually 80/20 70/30 in silver/copper silver/nickel percentage or whatever.

Ftr, I meant a quotable amount of something else worth shipping.

Unless your local. Then you may as well make the call and bring them in. ;)

Unfortunately I am not local, but have sent my 3rd box in last week, so far I really am super happy doing business with Chris. Going back to when i said rookie mistake, in the beginning i had gold fever and anything that had gold i took it apart and saved. I must have taken 150 Hard Drives apart until i realized I was wasting my time. Now I have a bunch of small containers with everything from what I Showed in the photos, to several pounds of gold pins, hard drive actuator tips, etc.... I almost feel foolish now stripping SCSI cables and pulling out the pins one by one, in the big picture it's not worth it to me anymore but some may feel differently. I watched to many YouTube videos with false information. Again Lost I appreciate your responses, each question i have posted you have replied with good information.

Don’t be hard on yourself. We’ve all played that game, or contemplated it.
I went well beyond most at different points. Reverse electroplating. Distillation.
Smelting.
I even accidentally made a golden glass brick once. Only time refining worked out for me. Sold it for $40! Probably cost near $100 to make though. Lol.

Lostinlodos,
I concur with mjm316 in wanting to thank you for your help. Looking through your grading and some of your experiences have helped me & my son from not tearing everything apart just to end up losing $ in the end instead of selling it as a whole board.
