Can someone help me identify what board class this would fall under? Also this has a large gold top chip on it as you can see in the picture. I cannot seem to get it to pop off. Is it better to leave it on or take it off?

you will get a gold cap price...basically what they have done for me in the past is grade the board and then add and extra $1/lb for the gold cap chip being attached. you will probably get large socket grade (because of the extra blank board), maybe telecom if the grader is generous, then add the extra gold cap up charge. It has been a while since I have brought any of these in, so it could have changed.

If you only have that one board, it is not worth de-soldering the chip from the board. It is a bit time consuming to only make an extra couple bucks. If you have a bunch of boards with gold cap chips, then it starts becoming worth while.

Thank you for your help. I was thinking the gold cap chip is worth more but was unsure since its on this board and its half empty. As for removing the chip, in my mind if it can't be removed in a min or two then its not cost effective since I am paying employees to do this.

That gold cap cpu is probably socketed on a slimline scoket. If it is you can remove it and the rest of the ics.
Board would be large socket. Square chips go ic reate unless the pins are gold.
Gold pin square and Rectangles go Pentium if ceramic and green/brown fibre if plastic/fibre.

Regardless carefully remove the Dallas box. It's a battery.

Good to know about the battery! We are still very new to this at our salvage yard. We are trying to research as much as we can before we start accepting Escrap here. I now have another question. Say we remove all the ic chips and the gold cap chip then we will be left with an empty board how will that rate?

The board will go large socket motherboard $2.00 per pound

The gold cap is Motorola/Foreign Gold Cap Chips $60.00 per pound

ALL of your socketed ICs on that board are ceramic so if the pins are gold:
Pentium/Mac Ceramic Chips $25.00 per pound
if the pins are silver colour (silver, nickel, or silver plated) they go:
IC Chips $3.25 per pound

It's a multi-access server board.
The reason it's half blank is because a second CARD is mounted into that blank section and plugs into the port there. Normally that card was an emulator board that pushes T66 8080 and 40-04/-40 terminal output instruction. Or an x86 board with an 808, 8086 or 80186 to handle guest services for dos applications using Microsoft basic rather than the motorola xZ-Unix qtb compiler. not that you care for recycling! =)

This rectangle is a self contained real time clock, meaning it has a battery inside.
