I’ve dealt with similar boards both in production A/V and in security. If you’ve ever been in a super boutique, like Fields or Macy’s or the like, even barns and noble or boarders, one of the entry ways has this big grate with blinking lights behind it. That’s the security relay server. It’s technically a client attached to the minicomputer or server for the store. Unless the store is really old and they still have a mainframe or mini.
My interest here is that’s nearly a complete computer. (Kit wise, older folk methodology). A little modification and that could be a working (super outdated) system capable of CPM or DOS loads.
Far more advanced than any client I’ve ever come across. Not sure if the idea is redundancy or fail fast with save: it’s overkill regardless.
