I have 2 tape drive libraries that I need to get rid of, and I don't know what to do with them (see attached images). I've tried to sell them on ebay and craigslist but haven't received any takers (the technology is over 10 years old). I'd rather not dump them off at the local metal recycler if there's some extra value I can get out of them, but I also don't want to spend the time to break them down. What do you guys think I should do with them? Should I just bite the bullet and spend the time to break them down? Would it be worth the time?

The 2 devices are:

Sun Microsystems StorEdge L1000 Tape Library
Sun Microsystems ACL 4/52 Tape Library

Id say they are pretty much worthless... especially if you have not got any bites on CL or ebay. It just depends how much effort you want to continue to try to put into selling them.

Personally, I would just tear them apart and move on. They should have a decent scrap value.

Id take them for shipping and store them till i find time to refurb them and rehome them if you'd be interested in giving them a new home.

Thanks for the replies. I'll give it a couple more weeks to try and sell them. If no takers then I'll take them apart.
