I would like to clarify if this is a back plane board or a pin board

In my opinion this is backplane. To be a pin board it wouldn't have the plastic sockets.

I was a bit confused with the difference of the two. With the multitude of gold pins would make a difference, these are from a exterior telecom standby fiber distribution cabinets
