Hello all. I completely understand the policy of the lower rate for contemporary SATA board versus IDE/ SCSI logic boards. However, I have some very early generation SATA boards that seem to be highly populated and was wondering if they would still go as low grade SATA? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You could send an email to Boardsort, but the class is what it is. Some SATA boards might be the same as IDE boards but they have to make the decision to have a cutoff somewhere.

Did you get an answer on how to sort these? I've had a bunch of serial-attached SCSI boards from old servers, and wondered the same thing.

Any hard drive board that does not have sata connector is high grade. Any hard drive board with a sata connector is low grade.

I previously emailed Chris about this. For now, all SATA boards are low grade regardless. Even if they are SSDs that are covered with memory chips on both sides.
