i too apart an old radio/cd player that had the lowest of the low grade boards i ever saw...however on the green side were several of these small pieces with what looks like gold...has an arrow and letters ds3.ds4 and so on...any idea what they are?..gold is gold (plated or otherwise) in my book..thanks

Micro led controllers. Integrated.
Gold, yes. Throw them in a bin. When you have a few hundred they're worth refining.
Takes a few dozen+ to get bites on ebay.
They're worth about 40-50 per pound. Lol.

As far as board sort is concerned its a lowgrade board. If that ribbon contact plate below the leds are gold (can't tell) it will go midgrade.
