My boss's father passed away a few weeks ago and he came upon a big stash of e-scrap. A lot of it seems older, but would love help/opinions on what you would do with this all?
Thanks in advance,
Kelly

you could have a decent amount of value there. I would say that the boards with out flashing on the whole side would be best to go to boardsort... They also pay pretty good prices for cpu's. Some of the flash plated boards, pins, and fingers, I would consider trying to find a refiner. If you don't want to deal with that though, email Chris and see what he will offer you.

where abouts are you located? anywhere close to boardsort?

I wish! We are in California. Thanks for your reply. Ummm, what is a refiner? This is all new to me.

My best advice is to tell you not to try a refiner on your own unless you are WELL over 100lbs per item class AND are a business.

First picture.
In board view.
Top right are 486 and Pentium class cpus
Bottom right is finger cards and telco
Left is mixed some telco some finger cards and some 486 cpus.

Second pic
Mostly telco but mixed.

3rd brown one will go midgrade or possibly peripheral if its gold flashed. Other 2 are telco.

4th gold pins. You need to mail them in for a quote. They will scan them to find the total metal %s and pay out accordingly.

5th peripheral if they are populated on the flip side. mid grade if totally blank

6th Spools of wire. Mixed wire class.

7) assuming front/back peripheral rate.

8th Left (green) is peripheral right (gold) could be telco

nine) Depending on the large board's flip side finger card or telco. Little one is telco.

10 green fibre. If the cap is fibre or sone sort of other plastic probably green fibre without
If it's ceramic or metal green fibre with metal

I should have clarified a bit on the finding a refiner part... those gold flashed board are often times refined by small scale refiners along with the gold pins, and fingers. You would have to look around for someone (preferably a business) that does toll refining. It will take a good bit of digging around.

Another option is trying to sell on Ebay. Bidders can go crazy for gold covered things... you have to be careful how you sell and you will loose money to fees... as well as the time and effort it will take to sell them.

If you check with boardsort, they will buy everything at a lower price (a bit of a mislabel because they offer pretty good prices for the industry) but you will be done and clear of everything in one transaction minus shipping.

Thank you all for your assistance! I will share this information with my boss and go from there.
Sincerely,
Kelly
