Thanks! I did a little research/math... I trimmed the gold fingers from 4 Backplane boards. 3 of them had standard fingers and one of them had longer fingers (3/8" +/-) the trimmed fingers off one with standard size fingers weighed 2.4G, the fingers off the one with longer fingers weighed 5.5G . total weight of the fingers from the 4 boards was 12.9G . at todays payout of $32 Lb for trimmed fingers which equals $.07 per Gram the 12.9G of fingers is worth @ $.90 and only took a couple cents of weight off the Backplane rate. so in Volume... not a bad gig.
One queston about trimming fingers, I made sure to trim very carefully and not get green board. but the gold fingers do not go all the way to the edge of the boards there is maybe 1/32" of naked board beyond the end of the fingers. does that edge need to be trimmed as well? if so, my numbers above are heavy RT
