Stop apologising! Lol
That's what the threads are for.

Top one is a bit of a stumper. My best guess is small socket based on their server socket pin set

Bottom one is small socket; it's missing external ports but makes up for the loss with a gold finger.

The top board without question is a back plane board from a Dell server

The bottom I suppose you could call a small socket M/B, But why would you when it has Gold fingers and G/F cards are worth more?

With the exception of memory, I have always placed anything with Gold fingers in the G/F category and have never had a problem.

If you click on "click to see description" on the price list you can see that this card is a lot better quality than normal "finger" cards.

My opinion is " if it has Gold Fingers,it is a G/F card", unless it is memory

this doesn't work for voltage regulator cards, those will be graded differently because of the components with excessive weight.... but as a general rule this will apply.

I have also sent the top board in as backplane with no problem multiple times.

The bottom one I treat a little differently because I refine some of that material. usually I remove the gold fingers, then cut the left and right sections off and put them in back plane. The middle section I will remove the chips for refining and put the leftover board in peripheral.

I would say there is a chance that it could be graded small socket server, but I am of the opinion that western said, it has some pretty good components on it and is better than your average gold finger card... that's where I would toss it.

While it's better populated than the average finger card it's also considerably heavy in steel from the sockets and board weight; but that's been where I put them. In with small socket but I sub bundle my shipments to some degree and have always put those tied with 386-pentium riser boards as well so it could be I'm just offsetting stuff enough to never have anyone complain.

Top one on further review; I'd agree with backplane.

Re:western... Generally that works but there's always exceptions in scrap as a elk as mls pointed out as well as terminators which go peripheral with finger and midgrade when finger is removed.
